BLESSED JEROME
Blessed Jerome (Feast Day: June 15th) was born around 340 AD in Stridonius between Pannonia and Dalmatia. His parents were Christian, but he was not baptized until he went to Rome in 360 AD. Blessed Jerome traveled much, studying theology and several languages. In Antioch he was ordained a priest and traveled to Constantinople to study the Scriptures under St. Gregory the Theologian. He translated the Bible to Latin and used the Hebrew Old Testament, but later updated it using the Septuagint.
