Introduction
Welcome to the travel blog RELICS HUNTER.
The mission of this site is to inspire Christians to make pilgrimages to and venerate the holy sites and relics of the Church.
The idea for this site came to me a couple of years ago. In its original form I wanted to compile a Fodor’s esque book containing holy sites, the locations of the relics of saints, and the locations of other holy objects.
I wanted to help people to be able to find and venerate the holy places of Christianity without having to do all the research that I did. I also wanted to show how accessible many of these relics were in order to inspire people to make pilgrimages in the first place.
TIMELINESS
I am hoping to write at least one new post a week, but we’ll see how that works. It might turn into something bi-monthly or monthly for the time being.
CONTENT
I have a lot of information to share, only not the time to share it all at once.
The plan for the time being is to write about Japan in the first couple of posts. This includes the location of the relics of St. Nicholas of Japan, as well as some of the Churches he established.
From there we’ll see.
I have a lot of information about Russia, Georgia, Italy, and the Holy Land. I also have some information on Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, North America, and Turkey.
REQUESTS
I am considering allowing for contributing authors since I believe that the more people who help make this project a possibility, the better the mission of this site will be fulfilled. Though for the time being, and until I have more free time, I’ll be the sole author on the site.
In the mean time, feel free to visit my other blog site to learn about teaching and traveling abroad.
